At iBalance Physiotherapy, Sports & Wellness Center, our most caring and very experienced registered physiotherapists, registered acupuncturists and registered massage therapists will provide the best services and care for you, your family and friends.

Our approach to rehabilitation is one-on-one and hands-on. You will receive a detailed assessment and full treatment during the first visit so that we understand your concerns and get the healing process to start as soon as possible. A home exercise and self-management program is always provided before you finish your first appointment so that you are in control of the pain and discomfort. During every follow-up visit, our therapists will work with you to provide treatment, reassess your progress and make recommendations for your home management program. We treat you as a person, not just a condition or an injured body part.

You will feel the friendly, caring and professional atmosphere when you step into our brand new clinic. We are here during the day, in the evenings and on Saturdays to suit your busy lifestyle.

To better serve our community, every Tuesday between 10:30 am-12:30 pm, our physiotherapist provides free services to low-income seniors and children who do not have extended health insurance coverage.

Yao Yao    RPT    Registered Physiotherapist

Yao graduated from School of Medical Rehabilitation, University of Manitoba in 2006 with a bachelor's degree on physiotherapy.

Sonia Gingras RPT Registered Physiotherapist

Sonia is a licensed physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Ottawa with great distinction (Magna Cum Laude) in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She is counting over 20 years of clinical experience in orthopedics in private practice, both in Quebec and in Ontario. She has an interest in orthopedics injuries and impairments of all kinds, including the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). She also worked with a significant number of military clients and law enforcement officers who have particular needs and goals to maintain and enhance their operational readiness.

During her extensive career, Sonia accumulated diverse postgraduate courses in orthopedics and in manual therapy and she is always eager to improve her knowledge and expertise through professional development.

Sonia is a professional, dynamic, conscientious and caring physiotherapist. She offers a compassionate approach to patient rehabilitation, focusing on high-quality care and service. She builds a strong professional relationship with patients of all ages through patient-first and empathetic care. She believes in teamwork, with the patient behind at the center of his own rehabilitation.

Sonia is fully bilingual and can provide care in both French and English.

Jasmita Chaudhery RPT Registered Physiotherapist

Jasmita Kaur Chaudhery is specializing in musculoskeletal / orthopedic physiotherapy and has been practicing for the last 9 years. Her expertise lies in post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation and geriatric physiotherapy. She is a certified manual therapy practitioner, trained under best manual therapy teachers like Brian Mulligan from New Zealand. She is also trained in Antenatal and Postnatal Physiotherapy helping recovery of pregnant women and new mothers. As a physiotherapist, she likes to teach her patients how to regain control of their own body after an injury, within their capacities and limitations. She emphasizes patient education significantly. Her treatment approach involves listening to the patient’s needs and expectations, working together to plan the most appropriate treatment for any individual condition, including setting realistic goals and treatment outcomes. Her Post graduate courses and certifications include ·-Prenatal and postpartum exercise instruction. Multi-professional co-operation in Stroke Management from HU University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands. Clinical Neurodynamic Solutions for upper and lower quadrant. Brian Mulligan’s concept mobilizations with movement, NAGs, SNAGs, etc, for upper and lower quadrant.

Anil Rao RPT Registered Physiotherapist

Anil is a Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario with extensive experience in complex orthopedic rehabilitation in clinic, hospital and community settings. An early interest in fitness and health led him to focus his studies in the field of Physiotherapy. Anil graduated from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences India in 2005 with a Degree in Physiotherapy. After graduation, he worked in different hospitals, clinics, nursing homes for 8 years before moving to Canada. He has extensive experience in Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardio-Respiratory, Post-surgical Rehab, Sports Injury, Pediatrics, Geriatrics Rehabilitation. He believes in treating the root cause of any injury which gives long-lasting results. Passionate about physical fitness and education, Anil’s treatment philosophy involves teaching his patients about their conditions and preparing individualized, one-on-one treatment strategies. His treatments include exercise prescription, soft tissue mobilization techniques, manual therapy, Mulligan techniques, McKenzie techniques, acupuncture, ergonomic advice, postural correction etc. for achieving the client’s goals. He truly enjoys connecting with his patients and helping them to recover from injury and get back to the activities they enjoy. Outside the clinic, he enjoys his time being active with his family by biking, hiking and playing badminton.

Dr. Jason Singh BSc, DC Registered Chiropractor

Dr. Singh is a compassionate chiropractic professional with a strong background in a

holistic approach to diagnose, treat, and prevent musculoskeletal conditions. He

graduated from D’Youville University as a Doctor of Chiropractic, after completing his

Honours Bachelor of Science from University of Ottawa. Jason has a passion for

empowering patients in their healing journey, with a dedication to continuous

professional development. Jason is devoted to create a positive, supportive

environment and building strong relationships with patients and colleagues within a

multidisciplinary setting. He is eager to to make a positive impact in the lives of those

seeking natural and non-invasive solutions for their health and well-being.

Yao Qiang Xu R.TCMP & R.Ac Registered TCM Practitioner / Registered Acupuncturist , Osteopathy Practitioner

After graduating from Beijing Sports University with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Rehabilitation, Mr. Xu furthered his studies at the McGill University in the Master of Kinesiology, Physical and Healthy Development Program, graduating with Master's degree. He then studied at the College of Osteopathic Medicine and received his Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice and Doctor of Osteopathy. In 2017, he studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the John & Jenny Traditional Chinese Medicine College (JJTCMC) and graduated with the Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). After graduation, he passed the license examination of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) and obtained his license of Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Registered Acupuncture (R.TCMP & R.Ac). He has been trained by Mr. Lin Liang Chuan, the leading injury specialist, and uses Lin's gentle techniques and cooperates with acupuncture in his clinical practice to adjust the body’s structural problems and improve the complex and stubborn pain effectively. Later on, he continued to learn various acupuncture treatments in his clinical practice, such as attending a small class on Fong's Scalp Acupuncture, such as participating in the floating needle therapy invented by Dr. Fu Zhonghua, which is in order to pass tendons and activate the body's self-healing ability, its therapeutic effect is significant, rapid results, high security. Recently, he also participated in the Dynamic Tendon Needle Therapy invented by Dr. Chen Decheng, which is different from the traditional acupuncture method. He has a solid theoretical foundation, formal professional training, a rigorous and conscientious practice attitude, and more than ten years of clinical practice. He is able to integrate acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and Chinese and Western osteopathic techniques in clinical practice and combine the advantages of each discipline, to helping patients recovering from their illness quickly.

Matthew Liu R.Ac, RMT Registered Acupuncturist / Registered Massage Therapist

Matthew learned traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) from a distinguished martial art master as his yang age in China. With this inheriting he refresh and expand his knowledge of TCM and Therapeutic Massage (TuiNa) through schooling in the International Academy of Health Education in Ottawa and gained double diplomas in TCM Acupuncture Practitioner and Massage therapy. Matthew joined iBalance Physiotherapy in August 2015 to provide our clients with a comprehensive intervention in rehabilitation.

Massage Therapy

Matthew is able to work with a variety of conditions and perform a variety of treatment techniques. His proficiencies are including Swedish & deep tissue massage, hydrotherapy, Remedial ROM & stretching / strengthening, Shiatsu and Chinese therapeutic massage (TuiNa), Cupping and Moxibustion. His expertise is at treating neurological and muscular-skeletal disorders:

Acupuncture

Matthew also practices traditional Chinese acupuncture. He is proficient in Classical Acupuncture, Master Tung’s points and Dr. Tan balance method techniques. Acupuncture treatments consist of inserting thin, disposable needles into the skin to balance the flow of Qi and stimulate the body's ability to heal. Acupuncture is used to treat many different diseases, disorders and pain conditions. Common ailments that respond well to acupuncture include:

 Vanessa Guppy RMT  Registered Massage Therapist

Vanessa graduated from the massage therapy program with Advanced Diploma [September 2012- 2015] at Algonquin College. She is passionate about the therapeutic effects of massage therapy in terms of alleviating pain and stress. She believes that for optimal well being we must be nourished properly and take part in regular physical activity. Vanessa ensures quality treatments and expects clients to use the provided remedial exercises to achieve optimal functionality and lengthen the effects of treatment. She provides friendly encouragement and is eager to welcome her new clients!
